1) Don't rush your child.
2) Watch out for signals such as the child pulling at their nappy and talking about their nappy.
3) When choosing a potty for your child, get them involved in choosing one. Discuss with your child what a potty is and what it is for.
4) Place the potty in an area that is accessible for your child.
5) Encourage your child to use the potty every 20-30 minutes.
6) Positive reinforcement. The use of positive language will encourage your child to use the potty on their own.
7) Create a song to do with potty training. This will keep your child engaged and the process enjoyable for them.
8) Create a routine. Encourage your child to go in the morning, before bed and in between meal times throughout the day.
